Gara Rock is situated 8 miles from Kingsbridge town centre and even closer to Salcombe as the crow flies; both towns provide a wide range of amenities. Gara Rock is 241 miles from London, 124 miles from Bristol, and 206 miles from Birmingham.

By train: There are regular train links direct to London and other major cities from Totnes, only 35 minutes away.

By road: Leave the M5 at Exeter and continue along the A38 to Kingsbridge. Take the A379 Kingsbridge to Dartmouth Road and turn right at Carehouse Cross in Stokenham. Take this road to East Prawle and follow signs to Gara Rock.

Salcombe offers an abundance of activities including sailing, yachting, fishing, surfing, shopping – the list goes on. The rustic, narrow streets are home to colourful shops, art galleries, delicatessens and numerous pubs and restaurants, while the town itself is one of the best situated in the West Country. This buzzing town with endless charm is only a few miles from Gara as the bird flies and is easily accessible from Gara Rock, either by road or a short walk and boat ride.

The ancient market town of Kingsbridge is also close to Gara and is the historic and natural centre of the South Hams. Kingsbridge is still a vibrant working town, not just a holiday centre, and has a varied selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs which are open all year. The major crowd pulling events in town are the Music Festival, held during June and Fair Week, by tradition in July.
